Looking for Agape... in all the wrong places

So I have this theory, maybe it is more of an insight. I don't know; just roll with me for a little bit. Anyone who knows me probably knows my favorite musician would have to be John Mayer. I adore him and his music for various reasons, but that's another blog for another time.
Maybe it is because I have over played every one of his songs on my iPod, but I started to gather a while back that Mayer is longing for God and doesn't know it. He is searching for a contentment, peace, and meaning that only God can give. While listening to different lyrics, statements, and monologues, I've discovered that he is all but saying God's name when he describes what's missing (Song: Somethings Missing, Album: Heavier Things) or what life approach he has yet to try (Song: Bold as Love, Album: Where the Light Is).

Hear, why don't you listen for yourself? First, check out Something's Missing. The song describes trying everything there is to offer, but still knowing that you are lacking something significant.

This is one of my favorites. This is Mayer's cover of Jimi Hendrix's Bold as Love. The song is great, but pay attention to the monologue in the middle.
